Lena Weisman to lead Main Street Organization

Lena Weisman has been officially named the executive director of Gloucester Main Street. She has been at Main Street for six months of “dedicated leadership” according to a press release, and at 25 is the youngest executive director in the organization’s 20 years.

Weisman has already made a meaningful impact, expanding the organization’s capacity to revitalize Main Street and strengthen the local community, the release said.

With a personal approach, Weisman has prioritized building strong relationships with business owners, visitors, shoppers, property owners, and local leaders, said the release, adding, “Her deep commitment to understanding and uplifting the community ensures that Gloucester Main Street’s work is not just about economic growth but about improving the everyday lives and experiences of everyone in the district.”

Under Weisman’s leadership, Gloucester Main Street has continued its transformation into a vibrant, thriving hub for businesses, residents, and visitors alike, said the release.

“Lena’s organization skills and dedication to Gloucester’s Main Street Organizations made an immediate and much-appreciated positive contribution,” said David Hudson, chair of the Main Street Preservation Trust. “Lena’s appointment as permanent executive director is well deserved, and I look forward to working closely with her.”

Emily King, owner of The LC Salon and vice chair of Gloucester Main Street Association, praised Weisman’s efforts, saying, “I am so impressed with Lena on her outstanding work in revitalizing Main Street. Her commitment and tireless efforts have been key to its transformation into a vibrant and thriving community. The positive impact of her contributions is truly remarkable, and I’m deeply impressed by her dedication and the results she’s achieved. I look forward to seeing her continued success in future projects.”

Dr. David Brown, co-director of the Fairfield Foundation, secretary of Main Street Preservation Trust, and board member of the Gloucester Community Loan Fund, echoed these sentiments. “Lena is an amazing resource for our community and a fantastic human being,” said Brown. “She is the passionate advocate for Main Street that we need, and we are lucky to have her.”
