Gloucester Main Street Association will once again host the popular Daffodil Festival Beer Garden on Saturday, April 2nd from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Versability Resources, located at 6632 Main Street in downtown Gloucester Village. The last Daffodil Festival Beer Garden was hosted in 2019 with thousands in attendance, marking this year’s return as an exciting
The Daffodil Festival Beer Garden coincides with Gloucester County’s Daffodil Festival held April 2nd and 3rd with a wide variety of events offered, including a parade, live music and entertainment, children’s activities, and much more.
Jennifer Dutton Haggerty, Executive Director of Gloucester Main Street Association, noted the difficulty of the past few years, especially due to the cancellation of this beloved Gloucester event, but with this year’s Daffodil Festival fully launched she is excited to welcome folks downtown.
“After a two year hiatus, we are thrilled to have the Daffodil Festival Beer Garden return! So many people look forward to this fun event, including our own Board of Directors and volunteers. It’s always a great time bringing the community together and making new friends!” said Haggerty.
This year’s beer garden will offer a variety of domestic and craft beers, in addition to hard ciders, ten different selections available to guests at $7 a pint thanks to Tap Sponsors: The Closing Shop, Split Enz Salon, Decker Law, Tomlinson Exterminating, Alistair J. Ramsay L.S., P.C. Gloucester Hair On Main and Chesapeake Bank .
Guests are invited to spend time at the beer garden, enjoying food from two area food trucks: Big Island Aquaculture, offering oysters, and On the Flip Side, offering American-Asian cuisine. Beer garden guests will also find Northern Neck Popcorn Bag offering popcorn in a variety of flavors. Live entertainment will be provided by local reggae band Stuck on A Name.
The Daffodil Festival Beer Garden not only welcomes thousands of visitors to enjoy beer, live music, and local food, but profits also support Gloucester Main Street Association and contribute to a strong financial foundation for downtown events and marketing efforts in support of the downtown business community. Thanks to the beer garden’s title sponsor, Asbury Electric, each drink purchased gives back to downtown.
“Asbury Electric loves Gloucester folks!” said Daniel Smith, Owner of Asbury Electric.
“We had so much fun at last year’s Last Call Before Fall event that we decided to sponsor again. It gives us a chance to meet and hang out with our neighbors, and to give our neighbors a chance to learn about who we are and how much we care,” said Smith.
