Sweet Tooth Café to mark 10th anniversary next week
Sweet Tooth Café, located on Gloucester Main Street, is inviting the community to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a full week of specials, sweet treats, and events beginning Monday, Sept. 15. Guests are encouraged to reminisce over longtime favorites, discover menu highlights, and raise a coffee to a decade of deliciousness, said a press release.
Sweet Tooth’s story began in September 2015, when Crystal Burton transformed her home-based cupcakery, Sweet Tooth Parlor, into a bakery-cafe on Gloucester’s Main Street.
Burton’s vision gained even more momentum after she won the Launch Gloucester competition, a grant program through the Gloucester Main Street organization that provided startup capital, business consulting, and marketing support. This opportunity helped her expand Sweet Tooth into a full café, laying the foundation for the growth and success it continues to see today, said the release.
Over the years, Sweet Tooth has earned recognition both locally and regionally. In 2024, the café was named Retailer of the Year by the Retail Alliance, and most recently, it was highlighted by Virginia Living as one of eastern Virginia’s best bakeries and sandwich shops.
“For 10 years, Sweet Tooth Café has been a gathering place where every bite feels like home and every visit supports a business rooted right here in Gloucester,” said Burton. “We’re proud to have grown alongside Main Street with the support of our community, visitors, and fellow businesses. We look forward to the next chapter.”
Sweet Tooth’s anniversary not only celebrates a decade of success for the café, said the release, but also highlights the role that local businesses play in keeping Gloucester’s Main Street thriving as a hub for dining, shopping, and community connection.
Originally located at 6655 Main Street, Sweet Tooth moved in 2023 closer to the court circle, at 6566 Main Street.
