Arts On Main Exceeds 4th Cook Foundation Challenge Grant
At the Cook Foundation office on Main Street, Adrianne Joseph, Cook Foundation President, and Mollie Stewart, Cook Board member, presented Lynne Manning and Hugh Bryan, MD of Arts on Main with a $15,000 check for securing matching contributions from “never-before” friends and donors during this last fiscal year ending June 30, 2020.
“It is especially gratifying to welcome new friends to Arts on Main, and to know that they have come to value and depend on this growing arts center that serves our community,” said Hugh Bryan, Chair-Elect.
The Cook Foundation has supported Arts on Main through multiple challenge grants that have yielded donations from the Cook Foundation to the Arts on Main Operating Fund in the amount of $60,000.
Through those challenge grants the community matched those donations to the tune of $150,000.
A “win-win” for Arts on Main because the challenge grants position Arts on Main to grow its donor base in a meaningful way. New donors allow Arts on Main to share their mission with a broader audience and solidify the organization as a community asset for the Middle Peninsula region.
“2020 has been a challenging calendar year thus far, due to corona-virus and greatly reduced fundraising capability,” said Lynne Manning, Arts on Main Board Chair. “We are immeasurably grateful that the Cook Foundation continues to support contributions to the Arts on Main operating fund which are crucial to the survival of the organization.”
“It is a privilege to be a part of the amazing journey at Arts on Main over the last five years. The Cook Foundation, through its Challenge Grants, has sought to encourage Arts on Main’s growth into an independent structure successfully serving our community needs in the arts through its many diverse programs, events and exhibits. The outstanding work of the board and staff have brought fabulous results, which benefit our entire community,” stated Adrianne Joseph.
