Gloucester Main Street’s Holiday Weekend of Festivities

Gloucester Main Street is set to kick off this holiday season with a celebratory weekend of

events, bringing residents and visitors a chance to enjoy the spirit of the season while supporting

small businesses.

First Friday, December 6th

Select Main Street businesses will be open late. From 5:00 to 8:00 PM, the Gloucester Resource

Council will host the first Festival of Trees along Main Street and the Historic Court Circle. Over

20 nonprofits, businesses, and government organizations will decorate trees and wreaths to

showcase their missions. Families can also enjoy a seek-and-find activity, photo opportunities,

and other holiday fun.

Saturday, December 7th: Holiday Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting

The weekend continues on Saturday, December 7th at 3:00 PM with the Christmas & Holiday

Parade. This beloved annual event will feature local marching bands, community groups, and

beautifully decorated floats, ending with a special appearance from Santa Claus, officially

kicking off the holiday season. Following the parade is the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting, a 15’ Fraser Fir donated by the

Cook Foundation.

Sunday, December 8th: Holiday Open House

Holiday Open House festivities will be from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. Main Street businesses will be

open, offering holiday shopping experiences and unique gifts. Families can visit Santa at the

Historic Court Circle from 1:00 to 5:00 PM for photos and holiday wishes. Dickens Christmas

Carolers will be spreading holiday joy along Main Street from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.

Grab a festive hot chocolate and coffee on the Tabb House Lawn (6596 Main St, Gloucester, VA

23061). Where kiddos can write their letters to Santa and families can take a moment to share

what they are grateful for. All of these fun new offerings are located on the Tabb House Lawn.
