Main Street Preservation Trust Announces Susie Miller as New Executive Director

The Main Street Preservation Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Susie Miller as its new Executive Director. Miller brings more than two decades of experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, grant development, community engagement, education, marketing, and organizational development to the position.

In her new role, Miller will also work closely with Kat Larkin, Executive Director of the Gloucester Main Street Association (GMSA). While MSPT focuses on historic preservation, revitalization, and investment in the physical and economic vitality of downtown, GMSA focuses on supporting and promoting Main Street businesses, events, and the downtown experience. Together, Miller and Larkin will bring the complementary strengths of the two organizations together to support existing businesses, attract new businesses and investment, and strengthen Gloucester’s Main Street as a vibrant destination for residents and visitors.

"We are excited to welcome Miller to the Main Street Preservation Trust," said Adrianne Ryder-Cook Joseph. "Her extensive experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, community engagement, project management, and education provides a strong foundation for the Trust as we continue to build partnerships and pursue opportunities that benefit Gloucester."

Miller's professional background includes serving as a grant writer, development director, consultant, educator, school administrator, and nonprofit project manager. Most recently, she served with Alleghany Highlands Community Services, where she was responsible for grant writing, grant administration, and project management related to mental and behavioral health services and two construction projects.

"I am honored to join the Main Street Preservation Trust and become part of the Gloucester community," said Miller. "Economic vitality and promotion of the Gloucester Main Street and Historic District to constituents across the state will build public and private partnerships to identify new opportunities for Gloucester. I look forward to working with the Board, local businesses, residents, community organizations, and local government"

As Executive Director, Miller will focus on strengthening the Trust's organizational capacity, developing funding opportunities, cultivating community partnerships, supporting preservation and revitalization initiatives, and increasing awareness of the importance of Gloucester's Main Street and historic resources.

The Main Street Preservation Trust welcomes Miller to her new role and looks forward to the experience, energy, and collaborative approach she brings to the organization and the Gloucester community.
